This listing is for the deluxe sensor extension. It's compatible with the Robo-Tank controller and can be used as is for your own projects. You can connect one of these to the controller using the included cable, if you want to run 2-3 of these you would need a $10 adapter which will be available soon.

The deluxe sensor extension has 6 ports total, each port has 3 plug types you can use simplifying things and removing the headache of cutting up cables. Set the jumper for each port to the sensor plug you want to use and plug in your sensor. 

If you use a DS18B20 temperature sensor you need to add a line to your /boot/config.txt file on the Raspberry Pi to enable additional 1-wire bus. Running DS18B20 on their own 1-wire bus is recommended so sensors don't interfere with each other and run independently. You can find this information in the user manual.

To use the deluxe sensor extension with your own project each module needs 6 GPIO pins from the Raspberry Pi, +5v and a common Ground.

3D Printed Cases and Face Plate

The sensor extension come in a 3D printed case, choose your choice of color on the right side. There many be small defects due to 3D printing but any will be minor and only have a visual effect.

With the deluxe sensor extension you can run 6 sensors, each sensor port has 3 available plug types to match your sensor keeping it plug and play. Simply set the jumper for each port to the plug type you wish to use. You can choose between the optical sensor plug, non-contact sensor plug or the pluggable screw terminal connector which is great for DS18B20 temps sensors or other Arduino based sensors.
