Continous water changes
#1
Hi guys,

Just ordered a robo tank (exciting) and was looking into auto water changes.

Has anyone successfully implemented this? Were stepper motors required or normal dosing pumps?

Thanks in advanced.

Hi Dilsh, with a little effort this should be achievable using normal dosing pumps and float switches. The float switches would be used to set a low and high level and then you could setup two ATOs in reef-pi and control each pump with the float switches. You could also use the backup ports for the DC ports so you have extra protection. The sensors would be needed to make sure one doesn't get ahead of the other. Using stepper motors would definitely help with this but I wouldn't completely trust it. Once you start setting up if you need any help let me know.
