Yeah me too, it was a pain in the ass getting the Jarduino going due to screen related issues and the fact I made my life harder by wanting a 7 inch screen instead of the 3.2 the code was designed for lol. That's why I ended up with a spare 7 inch screen, I thought the first one wasn't working right and had the ebay seller send me a new one, the replacement turned out to be worse than the first, I have a funny feeling I couldn't get any touch at all and when I got the Jarduino working on the first screen I just thought sod it that'll do and put the other screen to one side.
Might see what happens when I hook up the screen that runs my Jarduino, problem is it's a pain in the ass to get to it as it's in use and I can't decommission that controller till I'm sure I have everything as I want to swap over with out to much of a disruption to the lighting.

That is why I have stopped buying the sainsmart 7" screens I was looking at some ting else on there site about 3 weeks ago seen they have some kinda new screens out now but there stuff has always been a crape shoot I got banned from buying from them till I wrote an apology letter to them

Get an ElecFreaks display, they setup very easily and the touch feels much better that the sainsmart. Colors are about the same. I'm confident that will get you going.

Haha brilliant you had to apologise to get any more.
Looking at this screen. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/141861778774?_...EBIDX%3AIT The write up (what I can translate from the bad chinese to english effort) seems to indicate it's using a better drive chip or something that's more stable than previous versions. Or is this a load of crap and I should keep looking for something else, I'd found an electricfreaks one a while ago but it's not listed anymore.

Yup that one will work. They are better for the fact they have page swapping or something like that. Apparently you can have up to 8 different pages load instantly, needs to be done in programming though. Other than that probably the same but it will work.

Great Rob cheers. Lets hope they pull their fingers out and respond to my offer so I can get it on it's way. Down side to it coming from china is it'll be 2 weeks + waiting for it.
Which screen call would it go under?

Yeah it always hurts waiting, hopefully it makes the trip quicker, sometimes it happens.
This is the line you would use in the sketch. Code: UTFT myGLCD (CPLD, 25, 26, 27, 28); //For 5" and 7“ CPLD Displays There's also a touch calibration file for the CPLD which should also work. The libraries in the package should work as well. Cheers!

Right because I'm trying to save pennies I've found this screen.
http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/360730895195?_...EBIDX%3AIT Can't see it being any worse than the sainsmart, Rob can you cast your eye and let me know which screen to comment in/Utouch file to update. This is nearly £20 cheaper, but if it's likely to be as bad as what I have let me know and I'll try and find the extra cash.

Can't guarantee anything but it does have the SSD1963 driver so it should work.
