#1
Oh the day has come and I have recieved the package from Rob K0507 K05164
First thought was wau that's big....
Hooked it up to 7" ebay bought lcd, connected all up and HELLO..... IT'S ALIVE  K05164
[Image: IMG_20151006_184653.jpg]

So far I have connected only 2 DS18B20 temp sensors and a 8ch relay. trying to figure out where to connect PH sensor??

[Image: IMG_20151006_184825.jpg]
[Image: IMG_20151006_184903.jpg]
Here are some pictures of the current progress:

[Image: IMG_20151006_184920.jpg]
[Image: IMG_20151006_184932.jpg]

Had an idea to try it out so i have connected the LCD part to a Sensor part with a 7m UTP CAT5e patch cable and it works without a problem so far.

[Image: IMG_20151006_184834.jpg]

Rob did a wery good yob in all this but as this is in beta stage and I promissed him I would stress test this, I have found so far only beauty mistakes  that needs some atention and little code repair. Below are some shedules mistakes:

[Image: IMG_20151006_185315.jpg]
[Image: IMG_20151006_185452.jpg]

That's all for now, will play with it for a while but I love already.
Now to build an enclosure for the LCD and the sensor board.

Hi sassod, nice to see it setup.  K0507

What type of ph stamp do you have, Atlas or the one sold by DfRobot?

The Atlas stamps would connect to the SDA/SCL pins next to the relay header or the DfRobot one would connect to A0 on the connector board. I don't have a setting in the GUI yet to toggle between the two so left me know and I'll make the change to the one you have.

You should have a problem with the 7m cable, I've been using 7.6m for a long time now with no issues. I'm interested to see how long the cable can be, hopefully someone has a 50ft they can try. Good chance it won't work but never know.

Someone else showed me those issues on the outlet schedules, I think I packaged the wrong file because the real file does work. I'm sending out an update later tonight that fixes that and also allows the user to see all times in either 12hr or 24hr format.

Hey

 I have a DF robot one, have found a place in the skech around line 1215 to change between both is that correct :

Code:
else if (sData2 == 5) {
     // comment out pHValue if using atlas stamp
      pHValue = sData;
     }
     else if (sData2 == 6) {
     // comment out pHValue if using china ph stamp
       //pHValue = sData;

Also I can try with 10m or 15m ( factory made) UTP cables or even more if I make a cable myself.

I have some knowledge of coding and will look aroud your code if you dont mind?? Angel
It's very hard to find anything in the sketch as there are not many comments in it... so this might take some time to figure out how everything is placed and stacked.

Oh I have noticed that the Heaters  in hardware settings can't be changed and also where are they supposed to be connected?
damn must look over the sketch a few times more to figure this out on my own and not constantly ask you for my ignorance.

EDIT!!!

crazy me I was only looking at DUE sketch forgot all about the MEGA board and its sketch...............

Nice I forgot I put that note in it. I'll add the option soon for everyone.

That 15m cable would be nice if it worked.

For sure you can look at the code and change it if you want. Most of the variables make sense that's how I get around. There's definitely areas I can improve and save room, the mega sketch needs lots of cleanup but its all works great.

I thought I would make the heater settings smart as in no settings show up if there are no heaters present. When you change one of the outlet images to a heater the system knows you have one heater and you will see settings for it. If you add two heaters the other settings will show and it won't allow you to add a 3rd. I'm going to put a note where it says heater disabled on how to enable it. The heaters plug into one of the relays, that's all. The temperature settings you select turn the relay on/off when temps are reached. I'm going to have to update the user manual soon.

And definitely any questions you have ask away, I'm happy to answer.

Since I have been waiting for the comletion and delivery I have put some money into my own led build.

I have found everything on ebay and started ordering stuff Biggrin

I ordered :

-  4pcs 218x58x18mm Aluminum Alloy Heat Sink    from sure-display
- 8pcs meanwell ldd-1000h  from 2012topdeal

- 8pcs meanwell ldd-700h  from 2012topdeal

- 20pcs Cree XTE XT-E 1W-5W Royal Blue from panpan-supermarket

- 10pcs DC 9-12V 10W Cool White High Power 800-900LM SMD LED Lamp Flood Light Chip

The heatsink comes with all the screws and a little bit matted splah guard

And this is how LED chips  fit in locations

[Image: IMG_20150915_163733.jpg]

Soldered all up and connected. As I'm using 12V/10A china power supply the 10W pure whites are conected in parallel and are working with 500mA each as they have a min 9V drop I wasn't able to connect them in string but the brightnes is still wery high and so far enough for my needs.

Splash guard in place

Looks really good and what a deal for 16 channels.  K0507

How hot do they get? I can imagine those heat sinks warm right up. Do you plan to add a fan?

Would love to see your tank and the link for your image gallery doesn't work.

The heatsinks are aluminium and the transfer of heat is quite nice at thuch you can hold them with no problem, so far at max brightes at 1A, I came to little over 40 degrees celsius, witch is not that bad since I'm warming them with 40W each and room temperature right now is around 22 degrees :D,

I have ordered some brushless blower fans that will be blowing air from the side because I have a closed canopy over my tank and I will not be able to mount fans on top of the heatsinks because there is no clearance at the top of canopy.

Also I'm thinking on adding at the sides some 60mm fans just for the circulation and a fresh air intake to the canopy if the blower fans wont do the trick...

Oh and here is the correct link LED Build

Sorry I missed this  post, the max temp  that I got was little over 40C, and that was during the day with full white and blue ON without the fan. I think that is just the right temperature for the leds and I think I will not be adding fans. Today I had some time and replaced my light that I had before ( 2x54W T5 125cm ) with 4x led that are on the pictures. Now I need to put the canopy back on and test the outcome  Biggrin

Will put some pictures up when finished.

Hey

After a while I have been able to put LEDs all together now, and this is how they look....

[Image: IMG_20151103_135000.jpg]

[Image: IMG_20151103_134944.jpg]

[Image: IMG_20151116_144245.jpg]
Will post another picture when it is dark to see the full extend of light...

[Image: IMG_20151008_181750.jpg]
This is only 2 center lights on at full brightness
[Image: IMG_20151008_193514.jpg]
The blue LEDs are too much bright at full so they will be lowered to max 50%

Will post some more pictures in the upcoming days when I will be thinkering with intensities of each chanel...
