I see Gmail blocked less secure apps and is proving troublesome for SMTP. I did try the app password approach.  Anyone have luck getting Gmail SMTP to work again?

it works for me, it is necessary to cancel secure browsing in gmail and use an extra password for the application and use smtp port 587
