Leak detector alarm - Sideways - 08-22-2021

Hi,

I have a few leak sensors under my tank and they work fine sending me an email alert when they detect water. I would however like to add an audio and visual alarm so that I am immediately notified if I am at home. Just something simple like a blinking light and a buzzer. I am looking for any ideas and suggestions on how to accomplish this. Thanks!

Hi Sideways, you should be able to do this, on the sensor settings page you can assign any AC or DC port so it switches based on the sensor. You can plug in a siren or light so it goes off. I found something like this that does both.

I see, that was very simple indeed. Thanks!

Yeah, basically anything you can plug in can be controlled based on a sensor.

Thats great! Speaking of sensors, do you know of any working air/gas pressure sensor? I am looking for a way to hook up a sensor that can tell me when my pressurised (<5 bar) CO2 bottle is running out?

I don't know of anything compatible off hand but I will look around for something.

You need a pressure switch instead of a sensor.
There are adjustable switches available but many run on 24v don’t know if that would be an issue.
If you can spare a couple of bucks keyence has some very nice sensor-switch combo’s for about €100.
You can dail in 2 switch points and on some you have an analog output

Do you have a link to something? I checked out there site but they have a lot of sensors.

I found this project, maybe it can be adapted to fit my use? Thanks to both of you for your reply, much appreciated.

Sorry just seeing this now, unfortunately that won't work as it is, it requires an Analog pin to read the sensor, it's not just on/off. The Pi doesn't haven any analog pins however you could add one of these.

Then it's a matter of code, a script is needed to import data into reef-pi.

Quoting doesn’t work in the mobile version :(
But I use keyence AP-C30 sensors for my work, nice and small and very reliable
